Penny Drue Baird

Penny Drue Baird is the founder and principal of Dessins, a New York–Paris interior design firm renowned for its refined, personalized spaces. A distinguished member of the Architectural Digest AD100, Baird is known for her ability to blend classical elegance with modern flair, creating interiors that are both timeless and unexpected. Her work is defined by a couture-level attention to detail. Each project is tailored to reflect the client’s style, location, and architecture. Whether sourcing antique treasures or avant-garde pieces, Baird crafts homes that are as distinctive as the people who live in them. For over three decades, she has led Dessins with a team trained to meet her exacting standards, earning international recognition for her thoughtful, emotionally resonant design. Baird is also the author of Bringing Paris Home, The New French Interior, DREAMHOUSE, and Penny Drue Baird on Interior Design. Her next title, PowerHouse, will be released in Fall 2025. Outside of design, Baird is a dedicated philanthropist and frequent participant in the Kips Bay Decorator Show House.
