Barry received a BA in English Literature with a minor in Fine Arts from Brandeis University. He studied literature and Baroque architecture at the University of Reading, England. He received a Master of Architecture from the Harvard University Graduate School of Design. In New York he worked with Wayne Berg Architect, and Robert AM Stern and Associates. Since founding Barry Goralnick Architects in 1985, commissions include a long roster of residential and commercial projects in the US and France, and with clients as diverse as Erica Jong and John Lithgow. After custom designing many pieces of furniture and lighting for projects, Barry launched a company that designed and manufactured a line of furniture and lighting that was represented in 8 states around the US and he owned a showroom in New York, Most recently he has been expanding his brand with licensing deals with Currey and Co., Arte Broche Tableware, Watermark, Hamilton & Sinkler, Vanguard Furniture, Stark Carpet, Visual Comfort Lighting.
