NeKeia ‘Keia’ McSwain is an award-winning interior designer, product designer, and Principal of NeKeia & Co., a full-service luxury design firm that specializes in blending functionality with stunning custom interiors. Her creative projects are renowned for their eye-popping colors and textures, each uniquely crafted to reflect her clients’ individuality. Born in the Southeast and now based in Denver, CO, Keia has designed for residential and commercial clients across the United States and is expanding her influence internationally. She has ventured into product design with her collection of handmade leather artisanal lighting and furniture, titled ‘The NeKeia Collection,’ which is manufactured in Johannesburg and Cape Town, South Africa. In addition to her design work, Keia serves on the Soho House Committee Board and as President of a non-profit organization that supports designers of color. Recently, Architectural Digest named her the “New American Voice,”and she made history by leading the first all-black, designer-led team for the AD virtual Iconic Home Show house. Her work has been prominently featured in The Wall Street Journal, House Beautiful, Better Homes & Gardens, Architectural Digest, Forbes, and she was recently named to LUXE Magazine’s Next In Design 99. Keia is also a committed activist and pioneer for diversity in design. As President of her non-profit, she uses her platform to elevate traditionally marginalized groups, particularly black interior designers and aspiring design professionals. She fosters a supportive community that promotes personal and professional growth opportunities, empowering interior designers to reach their full potential.
