Saana Baker

I’m Saana Baker, editor-in-chief of The Textile Eye, a quarterly trend and new product report focusing on inspiring high-end home textiles. I am a textile designer with bi-coastal and international experience designing and sourcing upholstery, bedding, rugs, and tabletop. Over my 25 year career, I have helped craft lines for Schumacher, Barbara Barry, David Phoenix and Jiun Ho, and have acted as guest art director on more than a few licensed lines for name designers. I live in San Francisco with my husband Matt, a NASA robotics engineer. In addition to my ongoing love affair with textiles, I spend time restoring her 1890’s Victorian fixer-upper, hosting dinner parties, and experimenting with linocut and collage.
